Westminster Cathedral‘s 2013 Grand Organ Festival continues on Wednesday 22 May, with a recital by Peter Stevens, Westminster Cathedral.

This year, the Grand Organ Festival showcases some of the best players in the UK and Europe, playing the Cathedral‘s superb Willis organ.

All concerts are free of charge (a retiring collection will be taken), and start at 7.30pm, finishing around 8.45pm.

26 June - Olivier Latry (Notre Dame de Paris)
24 July - Philip Scriven (with Martin Baker)

23 October - Johannes Geffert (Cologne)
27 November - Nicolas Kynaston (London)

June 12: Jane Austen Day. A day trip to the Jane Austen House Museum and Chawton House Library.

Afternoon tea will be provided. Please bring a packed lunch. If time allows we will visit Jane’s grave in Winchester.

Eliot Smith Company Presents ELIOT SMITH’S MISSA PRIVATA at Westminster Cathedral on Wednesday 19th June 2013 at 7pm.

Admission FREE - Donations Welcome (all donations will go towards helping Eliot fund his placement at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance in New York).

“Private Mass” (in Latin Missa privata or secreta, familiaris, peculiaris), which is now understood as Mass celebrated without a congregation, formerly meant any Low Mass, even with a large congregation.

Eliot Smith, last seen at Westminster Cathedral three years ago after premiering MISSA (a dance performance in aid of Westminster Cathedral), returns to the Cathedral with a powerful solo dance performance.

Music is by: Steve Reich, James MacMillan and Westminster Cathedral Choir. (Recorded).
